Internet Marriage: No Personal Contact Required
For every single person who dreads going out on first dates but would love to be married, an Indonesian couple may have the key to the future of dating and marriage.
Rita Sri Mutiara Dewi, from Bandung in Indonesia, and Wiriadi Sutrisno, who is currently living in California, initiated their courtship online. Though the two live on opposite sides of the world, that didn't mean for their January nuptuals required either of them had to get on a pesky plane and fly thousands of miles with screaming children. (Ah, the bursting of love combined with the laziness only an internet relationship can provide) The couple decided to marry the same way they fell in love, online. The ceremony lasted a respectable 25-minutes and was conducted using video phones and a web cam. This unconditional wedding cost a meare $21.30. The bride will fly to California to meet her new husband later this month. Who says love requires close personal contact?
