$1 Million Shotgun Wedding For Teen Couple

In most places, a teenage shotgun wedding is not something to celebrate. It's not even something to mention to friends and family members. (Where we are from, it means Clyde and Darlene go down to the courthouse with lunch followed at the Sizzler.) But if you are the sixteen year old son of a Taiwanese legislator, it's the affair of the century. Groom Yen Chiayi and five months pregnant bride Su Yuhan, also 16 had a lavish ceremony. The bill for the event is estimated to be about $1 million. The bride was picked up in a Bentley that was followed by a convoy of 36 black BMW 475s. Since this is the wedding of two high school kids, their bridal party consisted of twelve of their classmates. (You know, so they could, like, totally have an awesome party!) The afternoon reception had almost 20,000 guests and was held in a stadium in the town of Shalu. Nothing like a lavish wedding to kiss your teenage years goodbye.
