Blind Couple Wed at Yankee Stadium

Who says baseball and love don't mix? There have been stories of people getting married at ballparks before. The traditional hardcore sports fan marrying their beloved second love (usually their spouse...Sometimes their beer...)with the ballpark organist playing 'Here Comes the Bride'. This time there was a little ironic twist. The 67-year-old groom, Ed Lucas is a radio baseball reporter who was blinded as a kid when he was hit between the eyes by a line drive. (Nothing like a life changing tragedy to make ya fall in love with the game even more.) He and his 51 year old fiancee, also blind, wed at home plate. (see wedding picture) This is the first wedding actually held on Yankee field. Nothin' like a tear jerker to remember what's really important in life...professional sports. Cheers!
